Readington Township, NJ – Dr. Joseph W. Scerbo, D.P.M. passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City. Born and raised in Summit, Dr. Scerbo had lived in Hillsborough before moving to Readington Township in 2002.
Dr. Scerbo attended Allegheny College and the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine both located in Pennsylvania. He owned and operated his Podiatry practice in Somerset for over twenty-five years.
Joe was well known in the local youth and high school wrestling communities. Many will remember him being mat-side at Flemington Elks Wrestling matches or in the bleachers at Hunterdon Central High School matches. Fulfilling his passion for music, Joe played the cello in the Livingston Symphony Orchestra for over twenty years.
He is predeceased by his mother Ramona (Albanese) Scerbo who passed away In 1985.
Dr. Scerbo leaves behind his loving wife Christine (Anthony) Scerbo and their two sons Thomas and Joseph, his father Constantine “Bob” Scerbo and extended family.
Visitation will be held in the Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Friday, May 4, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
On Saturday, May 5, 2012, family and friends are invited to gather at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 105 Summer Road, Three Bridges for a 10:00 a.m. funeral liturgy. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery located in East Hanover.
Joe adored his sons and lived to see them succeed. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, etc. please consider making a memorial donation towards Thomas’ and Joseph’s college educations.
