New Hope, PA- Dolores P. Mauriz, 92, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA with her loving family by her side. Born and raised in Cuba, Dolores settled to the United Sates in 1960, living in Springfield, NJ before settling to New Hope in 2001. Her family was from Barcelona and the island of Mallorca, both of which she also considered home.
Dolores dedicated her life to her family. She took enormous pride in becoming a citizen of the United States and rebuilding a successful life in this country for her family after losing everything in Cuba to Castro. Through those stormy and fearful times, she provided her boundless love, security and an ever present smile. She was a beautiful woman with an even more beautiful soul. Her body is gone but she will live on forever in the hearts of the countless lives she has touched in her lifetime. Besides her parents, Dolores was predeceased by her beloved husband Gerardo Mauriz Jr. in 2001 and six brothers and sisters.
Dolores is survived by her devoted children; daughter Dolores M. Pirnik and husband Michael of New Hope and son Gerardo Mauriz and wife Yolanda of Flemington. She will be deeply missed by her loving brother Frank Palmer of Miami, FL, her grandchildren; Michael, Edward, Gerardo and Alexander and two great grandchildren; Gwen and Sam.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Monday, February 4, 2013, from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Services at the funeral home will be officiated by Fr. Tom Serafin of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges, NJ.
