Flemington, NJ- Juanita (Gago) Caetano, 79, entered into eternal life on Saturday, February 2, 2013. Born in Palmeira, Spain, daughter of the late Benito and Rose (Paz) Gago, she resided in Carteret most of her life prior to settling to Flemington thirteen years ago.
Juanita was a very gifted vocalist and was the recipient of a scholarship from Juilliard School in New York City. She enjoyed traveling especially to Spain and Portugal. Juanita was a faithful parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges, formerly of St. Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church in Flemington and St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Carteret. She was also a member of their choirs and Altar Rosary Societies. She had been a CCD Catechist in Carteret for ten years. Juanita had worked as a purchasing buyer for US Metals in Carteret and was a secretary to Edward Dolan Law Office in Carteret. Most of her life Juanita was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, reading and especially taking care of her family. Her artistic abilities extended beyond her gifted voice and could be seen in her drawings.
Besides her parents, Juanita was predeceased by her first husband, Marcial Garcia; a son, Anthony Garcia; her brother Benito Gago; and a granddaughter, Michelle Mykulak.
Juanita is survived by her loving husband of thirty-seven years, Victor S. Caetano, with whom she joined hands in marriage on September 5, 1975. She will be deeply missed by her loving children, Maria Theresa and her husband Nick Mykulak of Flemington, Marcial Garcia of Union Beach, Juanita and her husband Bob Mykulak of Flemington, and Josephine and her husband Louis Cosentino of Flemington; two dear sisters, Rose Garcia and Dolores Gomez; seven cherished grandchildren and two adored great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Monday, February 4 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday, February 5 from 9:45 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 5th beginning 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges. Juanita will be laid to rest at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.
