Obituary

Albert W. Busler (Al), age 88, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, March 10, 2021.  Born and raised in the Ironbound section of Newark, NJ, Al was the son of Albert and Helen (nee McMullen) Busler.  Al graduated from East Side High School and was drafted into the Army during the Korean War.  He served in the Army motor pool at Fort Wadsworth, Staten Island, NY.

After completing his Army service, Al attended the Newark College of Engineering on the GI Bill and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering.  He spent his entire 33 year career with AT&T Bell Labs in Holmdel, NJ.  Al married his wife, Lyla, in 1956 and they resided in Cranford, NJ before moving to Piscataway, NJ in 1963.  In 2017, they relocated to Ann's Choice Senior Living in Warminster, PA.

Al was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dunellen for over forty years.  He was known everywhere as the ultimate "Mr. Fix-It" and spent much of his time in retirement helping family, friends and neighbors with repairs and household renovations.  He was also an amateur photographer and loved spending time with his five grandchildren, building things, cheering them on, and just having fun.

Albert is survived by his loving wife Lyla (nee Diggett) Busler and devoted daughters Karen Kursar (husband Lawrence Jr) and Lynn Goodliffe (husband Robert).  He is also survived by four grandchildren:  James Goodliffe (wife Brittany), Diane Goodliffe Gelok (husband Ronald III), Matthew Kursar and David Goodliffe (fiancée Emilia Brennan).  He was predeceased by his grandson, Michael Kursar, in 2010.  He is also survived by many loving friends and relatives.

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887.  A memorial service will be held in the future at the First Presbyterian Church of Dunellen once Covid restrictions have been lifted and it is safe to gather.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be sent to the Ann's Choice Benevolent Fund, 30000 Ann's Choice Way, Warminster, PA  18974.  Please indicate "Albert Busler Memorial" in the memo line.
