Obituary

Readington Township, NJ- Alfonso J. "Al" Villani, 87, entered into eternal life on Monday, October 7, 2024 peacefully at home with his loving son Alfonso M. Villani and daughter-in-law Karen by his side. Born and raised in Newark, NJ, son of the late Alfonso and Emily Villani, he lived in Cranford, NJ prior to settling to Readington in 2018.

Al was a graduate of Westside High School in Newark. A butcher by trade, Al alongside his brothers, Peter and John, owned and operated Villani's Supermarket in Newark. They then ventured into real estate investment and development. Al was a past parishioner at The Church of Saint Theresa in Kenilworth, NJ. He was a member of the Watchung Stables Riding & Driving Club. He had a passion for horseback riding and spending time outdoors, especially at the family's Crazy Horse Farm. Al enjoyed ballroom dancing. But his greatest joy was hosting family reunions on the farm and watching the children enjoy all the activities and recalling precious memories while making new memories with family members.

Besides his parents, Al is predeceased by his loving wife, Phyllis Villani; and two siblings, Peter Villani and Agnes Villani.

Al is survived by and will be deeply missed by his loving son, Alfonso M. Villani and his wife, Karen; dear brother, John Villani and his wife Kathy; and dear sister-in-law, Cordabeth Villani, his nephews, John P Villani and wife Nicole, and Christopher A Villani and wife Katrina; as well as his great nephews, Jacob, Samuel, Emily, and Christopher John.
