Leesburg, FL—Alfred Peter Tumolo, 86, entered eternal life on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Lake Harris Health Center in Leesburg, FL. Born in Plainfield, NJ to the late Joseph and Florence (Pellegrim) Tumolo, Alfred lived most of his life in Readington Township before settling in Leesburg nine years ago. Alfred was a graduate of Plainfield High School class of 1947, where he was an avid football, baseball and basketball player. He also attended Georgia Military Academy before entering Syracuse University. Alfred then proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954, earning the rank of Airman First Class. He was a member of the American Legion Post 261 in Piscataway, NJ and served as plumbing inspector for East Amwell Twp., Hunterdon, NJ.


Alfred owned and operated Al Tumolo Plumbing & Heating in Flemington for many years before retiring in 2003.

Alfred is survived by his beloved wife Amy (Obley) Tumolo with whom he joined hands in marriage on October 22, 1955; children Alfred Tumolo Jr. of Piscataway, Brian Tumolo of Piscataway, Sandra Burroughs (Harry) of Travares, FL, Janice Hunter (Jim) of Bound Brook and Carolyn Ruffa (Frank) of Flemington. He will be deeply missed by his seven cherished grandchildren, Michael, Stephen, Gina, Tiffany, Alyssa, Jessica and Isabella and three great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Chevy and Trystan. Alfred was predeceased by all fourteen of his siblings.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Monday, March 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday, March 3 from 8:15 to 9:00 a.m.

Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, March 3 at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:30 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges, NJ with Msg. Kapik officiating. Interment will follow at Bound Brook Cemetery, Bound Brook, NJ 08805.
