Raritan, NJ – Alice (Mangano) Savino, 84, entered into eternal rest on October 23, 2010 at Raritan Health & Extended Care Center in Raritan after a long and courageous fight with illness. Born in Corona, NY to her late parents Antonio of Palermo, Sicily and Benedetta (Bologna) Mangano, she was the first of six children. Alice lived with her late husband, Frank Savino in Huntington, Long Island, New York where they raised their two daughters before moving to Three Bridges, New Jersey 19 years ago.

Alice was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a homemaker and worked in retail for many years before she retired to enjoy her many passions including: needlework, decorating, sewing, reading, cooking, and knitting. She had an amazingly creative mind. She was always very generous with her time, talents, and always had a shoulder for one to lean on. She lived a very full, compassionate, and selfless life. Her friends and family will miss her dearly, and should not be sad about her passing, but be happy to have known her.

Alice is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Lisa M. Savino and Pasquale Giovino of Whitehouse Station, N.J., Pamela and Robert LaRose and her grandson Bobby LaRose of Alexandria, VA. Alice is also survived by her sister Virginia Schank of Jupiter, FL. and her brother Thomas Mangano of Edgewater, FL.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 and at the family's request funeral services were private.
