Allison Aires
Vandal
Mar 5, 2002 — Dec 16, 2017
Allison was an artist in many ways. She was a sophomore at Hunterdon Central who was very involved in the arts programs. She loved singing, dancing, acting and was an accomplished writer. She was a member of the Chorale acappella singers, the True Voice Project through the Hunterdon Academy of the Arts and the Hunterdon Central drama program. She directed and wrote a play for Whitehouse and Three Bridges School students in 2016 , and was also awarded the Youth Holocaust/Genocide Awareness Award. She also played the lead role of Goldie in the school's 2016 production of Fiddler on the Roof. She attended the United Nations Day of Girls event and developed with friends a "Poets Undercover Guild" to write and share poems to support anyone in need. For this, Allison and her friends were awarded the prestigious USC Shoah Foundation Award for the Community of Poetry presented to them in Los Angeles, CA.
Allison also loved to travel and was always up for an adventure whether it was becoming a certified SCUBA diver in Turks and Caicos or rappelling down a 300 foot sink hole in Belize. She gave in death, as she gave in life. Through the NJ Sharing Network, Allison's spirit will live on in the many lives she will touch through her organ and tissue donation.
Allison is survived by her loving and devoted parents, Eric and Holly; brother Ryan and sister Kara Vandal, and grandparents Stephen and Diane Dzurenko and Robert and Sandra Vandal. She will be deeply missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and all of her peers at school as well as faculty.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Friday, December 22 from 4-8 p.m. with a service honoring Allison's life beginning at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Allison's name to Kidsbridge, ( http:/kidsbridgecenter.org )
