Flemington, NJ –Anita (Martino) Creutzberger, 85, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at her residence. Born in Newark to her late parents Ralph and Rose (Tedesco) Martino, she resided in Irvington and Elizabeth before settling to Flemington in August of 2008.
Anita retired in January of 2004 as a caterer having been employed at Schering Plough in Union and she had worked as a cashier and hostess in the Pegasus Restaurant at the Meadowlands. She was also a school crossing-guard in Irvington. Anita was a volunteer for senior citizens in Raritan having helped with the Meals on Wheels Program and enjoyed
entertaining the senior citizens of the community. She was a member of the Irvington Little League Women's Auxiliary, Irvington Town Council and numerous bowling leagues in Irvington. She was a faithful communicant of St. Theresas Church in Kenilworth and Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Somerville where she also had served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Besides her parents, Anita was predeceased by her beloved husband Peter Creutzberger on January 9, 1989 with whom she had joined hands in marriage on June 15, 1947 and by her dear sister Claire Sapienza.
Anita leaves behind her loving and devoted children who will deeply miss her; son, Peter Creutzberger of Flemington and daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Bob Marino of Flemington and sister-in-laws, Ann McCarty of PA and Marie Brown of FL. Anita will also be deeply missed by her five adored grandchildren; grandsons, Peter Joseph Creutzberger of Vermont and Robert Marino of Phillipsburg; and granddaughters: Angela Creutzberger of NY,Claudia Marino of Flemington and Dana DelGuercio of Landing, NJ.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January, 21, 2009 beginning 9:45am at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 followed by an 11:00 am funeral liturgy at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Somerville. Anita will be entombed at St. Bernard's Mausoleum in Bridgewater. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at the funeral home on Monday, January 19, 2009 from 7-9 pm and on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 from 9:00 am until service time.
