Saylorsburg, PA – Anna (nee Abbate) Campanella, 97, entered into eternal life on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at her home. Anna was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Louis and Fortunato (nee Sommovigo) Abbate she raised her children in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn upon marriage and then moved to Staten Island, NY prior to settling in Saylorsburg in 1994.
Anna was of strong faith and was a past member of St. Clare Roman Catholic Church in Staten Island. She enjoyed quilting blankets especially for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed time spent in the kitchen, cooking for her family.
Besides her parents, Anna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Castrenze Campanella who died on November 4, 1994; and three siblings, Joseph Abbate, Alfred Abbate, and Rosemarie DeFelice.
Anna is survived by three loving sons, Richard Campanella and his wife Janis of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Robert Campanella and his wife Tamra of The Villages, FL, and Ronald Campanella of Saylorsburg. She will be deeply missed by five cherished grandchildren; nine adored great grandchildren; and many dear nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Monday, November 1 from 6-9 p.m. and on Tuesday, November 2 from 8-9 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 2 with transfer prayers at the funeral home followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Clare Roman Catholic Church, 110 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308.
