Obituary

Readington Township, NJ – Antoinette I. "Toni" (Abbott) Gilmartin, 73, entered into eternal life on Friday, August 2, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, PA. Born in Jersey City to her late parents Joseph and Josephine (Ciaramella) Abbott, she was a resident of Belford for forty years before moving to Whitehouse Station seven years ago.

Toni was a retired beautician/hairdresser who worked for several salons in Monmouth County. The matriarch of the Donofrio/Abbott family, Toni was a talented woodworker, creative in arts and crafts, enjoyed technology and gadgets, and was an avid RV'er who enjoyed travelling cross country with her husband and children. In her earlier years, Toni was very active with her children; whether it was being a den mother for cub scouts, a softball coach, the former arts & crafts consultant for the Monmouth County Girl Scouts of America, or being a magician who involved her children in all of her acts for many charitable events.

Most importantly, if you knew Toni, you knew all about her children and grandson and how proud she was of each of them.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband John P. Gilmartin who passed away in 2006.

Toni will be missed by her loving children; Ed Donofrio and his wife Denise of Alexandria Township, Diana Donofrio of Tucson, AZ, Annette Donofrio and her husband Ray Ward, with whom she lived in Whitehouse Station, and Michael Donofrio and his fiancé Jasmine Colon of Piscataway. She also leaves behind her cherished grandson Eddie and her devoted siblings; Joseph Abbott, Jr. and George Abbott and his wife Dorothy all of Carlstadt as well as her many cousins.

At the request of Toni, her wishes were to have all of the funeral services private.
