Audrey Andersen Hennon, 95, of Raritan Township, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family - a fitting farewell for a woman whose life was defined by devotion, faith, and boundless generosity of spirit.

Audrey was born on March 5, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York, to Einar and Myrtle Andersen. She graduated from Princeton High School and went on to earn a degree in Nutrition from Douglass College (formerly the New Jersey College for Women).

On June 7, 1952, Audrey married the love of her life, Thomas Joseph Hennon. Together they shared 57 years of marriage, marked by deep partnership, mutual respect, and unwavering commitment, until Tom's passing in 2009.

Audrey devoted her life to raising her eight children in Summit, New Jersey, where she lived for 42 years and created a loving, faith-filled home that became the heart of her family's life. Those Summit years defined Audrey's legacy - years marked by tireless devotion, deep faith, structure, warmth, and unconditional love.

While living in Summit, Audrey also brought her diligence, intelligence, and quiet competence to her work as a bookkeeper for Dr. Joel Levinson, MD, at Associates of Digestive Disease in Springfield, New Jersey, skillfully balancing professional responsibilities with the demands of a full and vibrant household. Her faith was central to her daily life, and she was deeply involved with St. Teresa of Avila Church in Summit, where she generously gave of her time teaching CCD and helping to shape the spiritual lives of countless children.

After her children were grown, Audrey settled in Raritan Township, where she continued her lifelong commitment to faith and service. She became an active and devoted member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Three Bridges, New Jersey, where she volunteered regularly and taught Bible Study, sharing her deep love of Scripture and guiding others in faith.

Audrey found joy in gardening, Bible study, and her beloved German Shepherds - Sarge, Baron, and Elsa - but above all, in time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her presence was steady, her love unwavering, and her faith quietly lived each day.

Audrey was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas, and son, James. Audrey's legacy lives on through her seven children: Catherine H. Newman (Jeep), Marcia H. Coviello, Thomas P. Hennon (Maryann), Ellen "Missy" H. Marx (Gary), Anne B. Hennon, John C. Hennon (Jean), and Elizabeth "Bit" H. Tarantin (Dan); her 13 grandchildren; her 10 great-grandchildren; and her many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A Memorial Mass celebrating Audrey's life will be held on May 16th at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Three Bridges, New Jersey at 12pm with additional details to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hunterdon Hospice, 215 Route 31, Flemington, NJ 08822.

Audrey will be remembered for her kindness, remarkable strength, deep and steady faith, and unwavering love for her family - especially the love that shaped and sustained her children during those treasured 42 years in Summit and continues to live on through generations.
