Flemington, NJ - It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the incomprehensible loss of our miracle child, Benjamin Paul Daus. We cannot put into words the depth of our gratitude for the divine gift of Benjamin for 18 years in our lives. He was and always will be our greatest love, and we are deeply honored to have been and continue to be his parents for eternity. We are forever changed by the gift of Benjamin. And everything we do in life now will be in honor of Benjamin, our beautiful beloved son.

As an avid experienced hiker who loved the majesty and beauty of nature, Benjamin enthusiastically embraced every opportunity to hike the trails of Hawaii during our annual travels to this special peaceful family sanctuary that we all love so much. On Sunday, January 23rd, our precious Benjamin suffered a tragic fall on a frequently traveled waterfall hike in Kauai.

Benjamin was an amazing young man with a bright future ahead of him studying at Cornell University to become a doctor, a true healer. He was Salutatorian for the class of 2021 at Hunterdon Central Regional High School having participated in fencing, marching band, jazz band, civic engagement, a young Democratic club, and was so proud to have learned to speak fluent in French. He was a talented pianist and saxophonist, and he traveled the world extensively, embracing each culture and person that came into his life during his journeys. Benjamin was referred to as an 'old soul', 'wise beyond his years', and a 'modern-day renaissance man', humbly grounded and effortlessly impressive. Everyone continues to share with us that he gave the most amazing hugs greeting each person with a powerful love-filled embrace - you could feel his love!

In the days, weeks, and months ahead when you reflect on our beloved Benjamin let it serve as a reminder to be more present, love deeper, try harder, and create experiences that will enrich the bond you have with each individual in your life. Benjamin believed in diversity with great passion and he wished for peaceful harmony in this world, consistently spreading his own light and love to positively impact every person that he met.

On Monday, February 7, 2022 Benjamin's parents, Ann & Paul Daus, accompanied their son on his final flight from Hawaii. They brought him home so his large extended family comprised of his maternal grandfather, Albert J. Bult, his many loving aunts, uncles, and adored cousins along with all of his cherished friends, his beloved dog Scottie, and those countless lives he touched could have the opportunity to pay their respects and say goodbye during the visitation and funeral services scheduled for Saturday, February 12, 2022. All are encouraged to be a part of this important, crucial time to honor Benjamin and his family's faith beginning with a visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 from 9:15 AM until 1:15 PM. Transfer prayers will begin at 1:15 PM followed by a 2:30 PM funeral liturgy at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 105 Summer Road, Three Bridges, NJ, 08887.  The YouTube link to the funeral liturgy is https://youtu.be/V1GHatZVM9U Disposition will be private.

Additionally, in the very near future, we will hold a celebration of life when we can all come together and remember Benjamin and all of his wonderful accomplishments, special qualities, and uniquely amazing gifts. At that time, we can all share and embrace everything that Benjamin meant to each and everyone of us and pay tribute to his significant impact on our lives.
