Benjamin J Guibilo's Obituary
Three Bridges, NJ- Benjamin J. Guibilo, 92, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Independence Manner in Flemington. Born in Montclair, NJ to his late parents, Santo and Concetta (Cerra) Guibilo, he resided in Bloomfield, NJ before settling to Three Bridges in 2004.
Ben was a proud WW II Army veteran faithfully serving our country in Normandy, France and the European Theater, obtaining the rank of Tech-5. Before and after the war, Ben was a barber and owned his own shop in Belleville for forty plus years. He was a member of the Nutley Old Guard (a post war social club) for many years. He retired from Essex County where he was a Court Officer for twenty years, working into his seventies. He was a communicant of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges, NJ. Ben was an avid bowler and a longtime member of the Hendricks Field Golf Course in Belleville.
Besides his parents, Ben was predeceased by his beloved wife Dorothy who was also a WW II veteran of the United States Navy.
Ben leaves behind his loving children; daughter Victoria and husband Allen of Whitehouse Station, and son Richard and wife Donna of Doylestown, PA. He will be deeply missed by his three loving grandchildren: Richard, Philip and Brian, and his three dear great grandchildren: Connor, Dillon and Lily.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm, and on Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 8:30am until service time.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2011 beginning 9:15 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 followed by a 10:00am funeral liturgy at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 105 Summer Road, Three Bridges, NJ. Ben will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made in Ben's name to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA, 02241-7005 or at www.heart.org.
