Flemington, NJ - Bohdan A. Mykulak, 70, entered into eternal life on Monday, January 6, 2020 at home with his loving family by his side.  Born in San Felipe, Venezuela, son of the late Theodore and Johanna (nee Mikolajczuk) Mykulak, Bohdan arrived in the United States in 1957 moving to Newark, NJ. He lived in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Carteret, NJ before settling in Flemington, NJ in 1983 with his wife, Juanita, son Robert and daughter, Michelle. Bohdan's family meant the world to him, and he cherished every moment spent together.

Bohdan was known as Bob to all who knew him. He was a graduate of Montclair State College Class of 1976 where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree, and he continued his education at NYU.   Bob faithfully served his country with the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1973 as a staff sergeant during the Vietnam War.  He retired from Equitable Life in New York, NY as a director.  He was previously Vice President of Met Life in Jersey City, NJ.

Some of Bob's hobbies included chess, tennis and golf. However, Bob was a soccer enthusiast. From an early age, Bob played soccer in the Ukrainian youth program of New York. Later, he played college soccer at Bridgeport University and Montclair State College. He also played semiprofessional soccer for the New York Ukrainian team. He shared this love of soccer with his son, nieces and nephews, and coached his son's youth soccer teams.

Bob diversified his interest in soccer when he became a soccer referee and assignor. He was a member of RVSOA as a high school referee, and a member of ISOANJ college referee association. The later organization recently honored him for his participation as a board member, referee and assignor. He had referees' best interests in mind when advocating for them. Bob was well known and respected among his colleagues in those organizations. He was the type of individual who could be counted on, and he never needed the recognition for his accomplishments.

Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by his daughter, Michelle Mykulak; and mother-in-law, Juanita Caetano.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Juanita (nee Garcia) Mykulak; loving son, Robert Mykulak and his wife, Dawn of Flemington and their two children (cherished grandchildren) Owen Mykulak and Ella Mykulak; dear father-in-law, Victor Caetano; dear brother, Nick Mykulak and his wife Maria; brother-in-law, Marcial Garcia; sister-in-law, Josephine Cosentino and her husband Lou. He also leaves behind nephew, Michael Cosentino and his wife Cassandra; nephew, Christopher Cosentino and his daughter Liliana; nephew and godson, Nick Mykulak and his wife Samantha; niece, Marisa Robinson and her husband Greg and their daughter, Claire; niece, Jaclyn Wunder and her husband Alex and their children, Emma and Jack; and nephew, Marcial Garcia and his wife Jessica and their children, Dorothy and Marcial.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Thursday, January 9 ^th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, January 10 ^th from 8:15-8:45 a.m.  The funeral service will be held January 10 ^th beginning 8:45 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:30 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Three Bridges with Fr. Anthony Sirianni officiating.  Committal words and interment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob's name to Hunterdon Hospice, 215 State Route 31, Flemington, NJ 08822 or to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation, 3401 Civic Center Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19104 or dial (267)426-5332 to a local Veterans charity of your choice.
