Bruce R. Reid, whose 20-year career in the pharmaceutical industry led to a senior executive position at the global health care company Schering-Plough Corporation, died on January 25, 2007. A resident of Whitehouse Station, N.J., Reid was 44.

He died at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, after a long battle with cancer, according to Jeff Winton, spokesperson for Schering-Plough.

Reid joined Schering-Plough in July 2003, taking responsibility for managing the profit and loss of the company's U.S. pharmaceutical business. He most recently held the position senior vice president, Global Selling Excellence. He came to Schering-Plough from Pharmacia Corporation, where he had served as group vice president of global business operation prior to its merger with Pfizer. At Pharmacia, he built a world-class global operations function and shared joint responsibility for managing Pharmacia's $12 billion U.S. pharmaceutical business. He previously served as vice president, Business Planning and Control. He also held a number of positions in sales and marketing management with Wyeth-Ayerst Pharmaceuticals and A.H. Robins.

Bruce was an active member of The Church of the Hills in Bedminster, N.J. Bruce's faith in God and his Christian witness and service to others was the foundation of his life and a legacy that he will leave for all of his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 beginning 11:00am at Church of the Hills located in Bedminster, NJ. At the request of the family, final disposition will be held private. Relatives and friends may attend calling hours at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Monday, January 29, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. The family has requested that donations be made in Bruce's name to The Church of the Hills Building Fund or The Church of the Hills School, 3545 US Highway 206, Bedminster, NJ 07921.

He is survived by his wife Lori and their three daughters, Elizabeth, Christina and Stephanie.
