Neshanic Station,NJ - Charles James "CJ/Jimmy"Grill, 54, died on Wednesday, April19, 2023 at home. Born in Somerville, NJ, son of Jim and Paula (Engel) Grill, he was raised in Neshanic Station, had lived for many years in the Gramacy Park neighborhood of New York City, NY before returning home to Neshanic Station.

CJ graduated from Somerville High School with the class of 1987. He then attended and earned his degree at Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY in biomedical engineering. He later went on to attend Seton Hall Law School. In his teenage years, CJ worked at Foothill Acres Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hillsborough. While in college, CJ worked at Carrier Clinic in Montgomery, NJ. He also worked as a unit coordinator in the emergency room at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ.
CJ loved vacations, traveling the world with friends, going on cruises and visiting Disney World and other amusement parks with his family. CJ had a love for interior design and received an honorable mention in Architectural Digest for a design he did for a loft in New York City.
CJ is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Charles J. Sr. and Kathleen H. Grill; his maternal grandparents Milton and Helen (Marsella) Engel, and a special cousin, Samuel Robert Engel.
CJ will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his loving parents, Charles J. and Paula E. (Engel) Grill of Neshanic Station,NJ; dear sister, Julie and her husband Kevin Matejko; cherished niece and nephews, Sarah, Michael, and Adam Matejko, caring aunt Cathrine G. Smith, caring uncle Robert Engel and wife Debbie; cousins Matthew Engel, Harry Gould and his wife Tease, Eileen Kahn, Jane Connet, Billy Connet and an adored canine companion, Madison.
