Obituary

Christopher Brian Jones, 55, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 27, 2023, as the result of an automobile accident near his home in Hampton, New Jersey.

Chris was born at Arden Hill Hospital in Goshen, New York, on December 30, 1967. He was the second of three children. He lived in Goshen in his early childhood, moving to Middletown, New York at the age of four. He and his family eventually moved to the Dominican Republic, returning to the USA when he was 15. They settled in New Jersey and Chris graduated from Sayreville War Memorial High School in 1985.

From his childhood years in the Dominican Republic Chris was bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish with great ease. He had many interests including eating his wife's delicious food, watching films with his sons, graphic art, many genres of music, playing the guitar, chess, board games, physical fitness and being outdoors in nature, among others. He enjoyed learning-by-doing and was always open to having new experiences.

Chris had a diverse childhood, living in a variety of places and attending many schools, including Academy Avenue Elementary School, Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, Massanutten Military Academy, the American School of Santo Domingo, and Monroe Woodbury High School. He was a sociable student and easily made friends everywhere he went.

In his adulthood, Chris worked in the printing industry for many years in offset, digital and large output printing at large press companies across New Jersey. He received the AGC Press Service Award and multiple certificates of completion in training in the mid-1990s, when the press industry started converting to digital printing. He adapted quickly to the new technology that later became dominant in the field.

Chris had a great sense of humor and was often the person laughing the loudest at parties and in other group settings; his laughter was contagious.

Chris was predeceased by his parents Alice Pauline O'Shea and Francisco Rafael More´, father Gregory Carlis Jones, his grandparents and many other beloved family members.

Chris is survived by his wife, Mercedes Monica Jones; son Edward "Alex" Jones and his wife Courtney and their daughter, Chris' cherished granddaughter, Addison; sons Emanuel Jones and Francesco Jones; sister Morgan Sageheart and her husband Adrian Goodall; sister Providence More and many loving sisters and brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews.
