Hillsborough, NJ- Cora Elizabeth "Betty" (Somers) Laine, 93, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 surrounded by loving family at her son's home in Hillsborough, NJ. Born and raised in Newark, NJ, daughter of the late Carl A. and Elizabeth Abigail (Wood) Somers, she settled to Hillsborough in 1962.

Betty was a devoted wife and mother all her life.  She was a member of the Neshanic Garden Club and Hillsborough Senior Citizens. She was a den mother for Boy Scout Pack #86. Betty volunteered at the Nutrition Center in Hillsborough and the Hillsborough School Library System. An excellent seamstress, Betty operated a small seamstress business. She was a parishioner of St. Alphonsus Church in Hopewell, NJ.

Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph A. Laine in 1996.

Betty is survived by five loving children, Mary and her husband Bill Brogan, Alice and her husband John Boudette, Tom Laine, Jim and his wife Carol, and Steve Laine; three cherished grandchildren and six adored great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 105 Summer Road, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Friday, April 14 from 10-10:30 a.m.

A 10:30 a.m. funeral liturgy will follow the viewing with Fr. Thomas Serafin officiating. Committal words and interment will be at St. Magdalen Cemetery in Flemington, NJ.
