High Bridge, NJ- Despoina (nee Kritikos) Drazinakis, 91, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at home with loving family by her side.  Born in Istanbul, Turkey, daughter of the late Christos and Anna Kritikos, she was raised in Athens, Greece and immigrated to the United States of America in 1978.  Upon arrival into the United States she resided in Whitehouse Station, NJ until settling in High Bridge in 2010.

Despoina was a homemaker who took pride in raising and caring for her family.  She always kept a tidy home, loved to cook and sew, and shared the fruits of her labors with everyone.  She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right, traveling for vacation to Ocean City, MD and Montreal, Canada, taking trips to Disney World with her grandchildren, and simply spending quality time with family especially her grandchildren.  As her faith and religion was very important to her, she was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway, NJ and more recently St. Anna Greek Orthodox Church in Flemington, NJ.

Besides her parents, Despoina was predeceased by her beloved husband of fifty-two years, Evangelos Georgiou Drazinakis who died on May 25, 2010.

Despoina leaves behind her two loving children, George Drazinakis and his wife Glory-Ann of Readington, NJ and Marianna and and her husband Daniel Bunce of High Bridge.  She will be deeply missed by five cherished grandchildren, Anna, Evangelos, Joanna, Emily, and Despoina; and an adored great grandson, Theo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Monday, December 19 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anna Greek Orthodox Church, 85 Voorhees Corner Road, Flemington, NJ 08822.  Committal words and interment will follow at New Cemetery in Somerville, NJ.  Memorial contributions may be made in Despoina's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater NJ Chapter, 23 Vreeland Road, Suite 105, Florham Park, NJ 07932-1514 or at alsa.org/donate.
