Readington Township, NJ- Domenico Pizzi, 89, entered into eternal life on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ. Born in Sassano, Italy, son of the late Giovanni and Giustina (nee Fornino) Pizzi, he grew up in Italy prior to immigrating to the United States in 1955, residing at that time in Jersey City, NJ. In 1977 he moved to Clifton, NJ, and in 2005 he settled to Readington Township.

Domenico was co-owner and operator of Silla Lingerie in Jersey City. Domenico's Italian culture was very important to him and he enjoyed passing on many family traditions. While living in Readington Township, he was actively involved with the Flemington Senior Center. Spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, was a favorite pastime of Domenico. He also loved gardening and sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends. He was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges, NJ.

Besides his parents, Domenico was predeceased by his beloved wife, Angelina (nee DiBrizzi) Pizzi; and a brother, Cosimo Pizzi.

Domenico is survived by two loving children, John F. Pizzi and his wife Angela of Wayne, NJ and Christina and her husband Fred Salerno of Readington Township; dear brother, Vincent Pizzi; five cherished grandchildren, Angela, Domenic, John Anthony, Andrea, and Jenna; and two adored great grandchildren, Michael Vincent and Nico John.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Friday, January 4 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, January 5 from 9:45-10:15 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5 beginning 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges. Committal words and entombment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Domenico's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
