Flemington NJ– Donald "Donny" L. Schaefer, 54, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at his father's home in Ohio. Born in Ravenna, OH, son of Paul and the late Elsie (Schaeber) Schaefer, he grew up in Randolph, OH before settling to New Jersey in 1987. For the last 14 years he resided in Flemington.


Donny was self-employed, running Schaefer Construction, Inc. for the last 30 years. He was a communicant of St. Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church in Flemington. He loved his outdoor toys and showing up at the most appropriate time.


Besides his mother, Donny was predeceased by his sister Ruth Hicks.


Donny is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 24 years, Linda M. (Farino) Schaefer with whom he joined hands in marriage in May of 1988; his loving children, Allie Marie Schaefer, 19 and Jack Henry Schaefer, 16, both of Flemington; dear father Paul Schaefer, 88 of Atwater, OH; siblings Paula and husband Greg Chrobak of WV, Patricia and husband Gary Jindra of OH, Karen and husband Gary Adelman of OH, Ken and wife Nancy Schaefer of OH, Steve and wife Jeanne Schaefer of NJ, Janet Stapin of OH and Jim and wife Tracy Schaefer of OH. Donny also leaves behind his extended family; mother-in-law Doris Farino of Somerville and sisters-in-law's Lois Lott and Lori Farino both of NJ. He will be deeply missed by fifteen nieces and nephews and one precious great niece and great nephew.

Don leaves behind countless friends and family and would have wanted to be remembered for his contagious smile.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Sunday, March 10th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, March 11th from 8:30 a.m.-9:15 a.m.

Funeral services will begin on Monday, March 11th at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. Disposition will be private.
