Edna L. Langevin, 82, formerly of Scotch Plains, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bridgewater, NJ.

Mrs. Langevin was born in Methuen, MA and moved to Scotch Plains in 1958. She loved to dance, which his how she met her husband of more than 40 years, Paul, who predeceased her. Edna enjoyed reading, playing cards, and was an avid Bridge player. She loved being out in the sun tending her garden, manicuring her lawn and watching nature. She also enjoyed spending time in Cape Cod with family and friends.

For over two decades, Edna owned a retail furniture store, Babyland and Teentown, in Somerville, NJ, with her husband. She shared her wisdom for raising children with the new parents that frequented their store. Edna was a devoted mom and homemaker all of her life. Her passion was her six children who she considered her greatest accomplishment. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and always shared her great sense of humor with everyone.

Mrs. Langevin is survived by her six children, Paul Jr. and his wife Denise of Greenbrook, Bruce and his wife MaryLou of Kent Store Va., Michele of Blairstown, Denise Toolan of Three Bridges, Jon and his wife Angie of Spotswood, Suzanne Kadish and her husband Jonathan of Flemington, three brothers Raymond, Rene and Alfred Guilmet of MA, sixteen grandchildren and three great granddaughters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Wednesday, April 27 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., and on Thursday, April 28 from 8:45 a.m. – 9:15 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 28 beginning 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges with burial immediately following at the Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains, NJ.
