Delaware Township, NJ – Elizabeth Ann (Reed) Bodnar, 76, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 17, 2006 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, NJ. Born in Brooklyn, NY to her late parents Raymond and Lillian (McLaughlin) Reed, she had lived in Raritan Township before settling to the Stockton Section of Delaware Township in 1989, and in the winter months, she enjoyed her residence in Jupiter, Florida.


Elizabeth spent her time as a homemaker caring for her dear family. She was a former communicant and Eucharistic Minister with St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges and currently a communicant of St. Magdalen's Roman Catholic Church in Flemington. She was a member of the Garden Club of Hunterdon County and in her free time, she enjoyed the wildlife. Her most cherished time spent was the moments she shared with her family.

Besides her parents, Elizabeth is predeceased by a dear sister.

She leaves behind her husband of 52 years; Stephen J. Bodnar, her loving children; daughter Mary Beth and son-in-law Les Mavus of Raritan Township and sons; Stephen J. Jr. and daughter-in-law Karen of Raritan Township, Christopher Bodnar of Delaware Township and Gregory S. Bodnar and significant other Lisa Alexander of Raritan Township. Her cherished brother Raymond Reed Jr. of Lake Habvasu City, AZ and her adored 6 grandchildren; Les and Dawn Mavus and Stephen III, Brian, Trevor and Ashley Bodnar will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held on Monday beginning 9:15am at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 followed by a 10:00am funeral liturgy at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges. Elizabeth will be entombed at St. Magdalen's Cemetery in Flemington. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9pm and on Monday from 8:30am until service time.
