Bridgewater, NJ—Elizabeth Saylor Castelgrant, 60 of Bridgewater passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at Hunterdon Medical Center after a long struggle with cancer. She was born January 9, 1951 in Princeton, NJ, the daughter of Clement Saylor and the late Dorothy Wargo Saylor.

A native of Hunterdon County, Elizabeth was a graduate of Hunterdon Central High School, class of 1968 and East Stroudsburg State College in 1972. She was employed as a Physical Education Teacher for 29 years working in the Lebanon Borough, West Amwell and the Flemington-Raritan School District. Upon retirement from the classroom she continued advocating for children and the schools of New Jersey through her employment positions with the New Jersey Education Association for the most recent 11 years.

She served the children and schools of Hunterdon County through her years as chairperson of the Hunterdon Dental Health Commission, being a three term President of the Hunterdon County Education Association and her terms as President of the local education associations in Lebanon, West Amwell and Flemington-Raritan. Also, she was a founding member of the Hunterdon, Somerset Business and Education Alliance serving as chairperson of the board for 5 years and continued as a trustee of the Foundation until her passing.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Daniel; parents Clement and Mary Pat Saylor of Three Bridges; two brothers Michael and his wife Beverly with a nephew Zachary of Asbury and her brother James of New York City. In addition she has a son Daniel, and a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth, of Hawthorne.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Sunday, November 27 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Monday, November 28 from 8:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.

Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Monday, November 28 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 105 Summer Road, Three Bridges, NJ. Services will end at the church, disposition will be private.
