Elvira (Vitillo) Scibilia, 89, entered eternal life on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Nutley, daughter of the late Liberatore and Giuseppina (Iannarone) Vitillo, she resided in New Brunswick for fifty-four years before settling to Readington Township on January 8, 2000.

Elvira was a member of the first graduating class of Middlesex County College Job Horizons for Women program on June 10, 1967. Upon graduation, she was employed as a legal secretary in New Brunswick and she retired after serving as a school crossing guard in New Brunswick with the New Brunswick Police Department. While residing in New Brunswick, she was an active communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Virgin Church for more than 50 years having been involved with the church Booster Club, Past President of the PTA and Golden Age Club. Until the age of 85 she was an active bowler. Since residing in Readington Township she was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges. Elvira was totally immersed and dedicated to family including her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoyed partying with her family and did so frequently and up to a few days before taking ill.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Antonio "Anthony" Scibilia on August 9, 2001.

Elvira leaves behind her seven loving children: Georgann Scibilia of Raritan Township, Paul Gregory Sciblila and wife Dena of East Amwell Township, Wayne Scibilia of Readington Township, Denise Barry and husband Kelly of Freehold Township, Karen Scibilia O'Hara and husband James of Washington Township in Bergen County, Anthony Keith Scibilia and wife Maureen of Allentown and Kevin Scibilia and wife Susan of Robbinsville; three dear siblings, brothers Ralph Vitillo and Carmen Michael Vitillo and sister Felicetta Vitillo all of Nutley. She will be deeply missed by her 19 adored grandchildren and 9 cherished great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Sunday, October 2 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Monday, October 3 from 9:45 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 3 beginning at 10:15 a.m at the funeral home followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges with Rev. Msgr. Robert J. Vitillo, Head of International Delegation in Geneva, Switzerland for Caritas International officiating. Entombment at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elvira's name to Whitehouse Rescue Squad, P.O.
