Raritan Township, NJ – Emily (Schlag) Ferrara, 80, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at Hunterdon Medical Center. Born in Erleness, Germany to her late parents Jean and Wilhelmina Haas, she had lived in Elmhurst Queens NY before settling to Raritan Township 16 years ago.


After years of employment with the City of New York as a Payroll Clerk, Emily retired in 1989. She was a faithful communicant of St. Magdalen's Roman Catholic Church in Flemington. In Emily's spare time, she enjoyed gardening, knitting and reading.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, Gaspare Ferrara who passed away March 14, 1977.

Emily is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law Joann and John Riedmuller with whom she lived, her dear siblings; brother Wolfgang Haas of Erleness, Germany and sister Rosemarie Ritter of Colombus, OH, three adored grandchildren; John Riedmuller of Greenwood Lake, NY and Steven and Erika Riedmuller both of Raritan Township. She will be missed dearly by her four cherished great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 10, 2006 beginning 9:00am at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 followed by a 10:00am funeral liturgy at St. Magdalen's Roman Catholic Church in Flemington. Emily will be laid to rest with her husband at Long Island Veteran's Cemetery in Pinelawn, NY. Relatives and friends may attend the visitation hours at the funeral home on Saturday, July 8, 2006 and Sunday, July 9, 2006 from 2-4 & 7-9pm and on Monday from 8:30am until service time.
