Estella "Rose" Hilton, 94, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Hunterdon Care Center, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Derby, CT and raised in Calais, ME. Rose moved to NJ where she raised her family in Orange and Rosemont before settling in Readington Township in 2008.

Rose was a caring and gracious mother who always supported her family. All who knew Rose loved her dearly. She was known for her pies she made for Stella Dallas' restaurant, "The River's Edge", formerly in Lambertville. Rose was a faithful communicant of St Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church and previously of St. Agnes' in Stockton. She was active in numerous posts of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, a Hunterdon County 4-H leader and a Cub Scout Den Mother while living in Orange.

Daughter of the late Myron and Mary Kent, Rose was predeceased by her loving husband Edward J. Hilton, Sr. on June 10, 2008, her dear son Edward Jr. who passed in 1999, sister Prudence Moser, twin brother Ralph Kent and brother George Kent.

Rose leaves behind her devoted daughter Patricia Hilton of Readington Township with whom she lived since the passing of her husband. She is also survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Judith Hilton of Lambertville and Michael and Jamie Hilton of Carlsbad, CA.; two grandchildren, Joseph Jr. and Mark; nephews James Hilton and wife Janet of Cedar Grove, NJ and William Hilton and wife Jean of Boca Roton, FL., who were raised by Rose and Ed. Additionally she will be deeply missed by many other nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation in the chapel at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 105 Summer Road, Three Bridges, NJ 08887, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2011. An 11:00 a.m. funeral liturgy will immediately follow at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges. Rose will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Ed at Rosemont Cemetery. Committal words and interment will be private. All services will be in the care of Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ, 08887.
