Flemington, NJ– Eugene "Geno" Caputo, 61, entered into eternal life on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington with loving family by his side. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, he resided in the Greenpoint section prior to moving to Montclair, NJ and finally settling in Flemington in 2006. Eugene was the son of the late John Patrick and Joan Mary (nee Plunkett) Caputo.
Eugene retired from Metro North Commuter Railroad in New York City where he was a pipe fitter. He loved attending musical concerts, especially the Rolling Stones. Eugene enjoyed hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, and anything to do with the outdoors. He had a passion for travel and was also an animal lover.
Besides his parents, Eugene was predeceased by his Aunt Theresa, Aunt Phyllis, Uncle Martin, Uncle Matty, Uncle Bill, and Uncle Gene.
Eugene is survived by his loving wife of thirty-two years, Christine (nee Wojciechowicz) Caputo. He will be deeply missed by his dear sister, Donna (nee Caputo) Consolo and her husband Carl and their children, Alyssa, Nicholas, and Kayla; dear brother, John Caputo and his children, Sean and Erin; dear sister-in-law's, Catherine Wojciechowicz and her partner Scott Yales and Catherine's son, Timothy; Elizabeth Wojciechowicz and her partner Marc Mazzone and Elizabeth's children Taylor and Aris; brother-in-law John Wojciechowicz and his partner Michelle Annunziata and John's children Oliveah and Evan; sister-in-law, Barbara Schick and her husband Christopher and their children Kyle and Ryan; Aunt Helen; many cousins and countless friends; and his canine friend "Brandy."
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ on Wednesday, May 23 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with the funeral service at 8:00 p.m. The disposition will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Eugene's name to an animal charity of your choice.
