Frances "Clare" Scanlon

Raritan Township, NJ – Frances "Clare" (McLaughlin) Scanlon, 62, entered eternal rest on Saturday, August 6, 2005 at her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Elizabeth, NJ to her mother Genevieve (Johnson) McLaughlin and late father John McLaughlin, she had resided in Readington Township for 27 years settling in Raritan Township seven years ago.
Clare was presently employed at Hillsborough High School as a Secretary for over 10 years. In Clare's spare time, she enjoyed Rug Hooking and other various arts and crafts while sharing her time as a mom caring for her dear family. Clare was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges.
Clare is survived by her loving and devoted children, daughter Jeanine L. Smith and husband Major David Smith of the United States Army stationed in Woodbridge, VA, two sons Major Robert J. Scanlon of the United States Army, stationed in England and Sergeant Jeffrey A. Scanlon of the United States National Guard Reserve stationed in Port Murray, Washington, NJ. She also leaves behind her dear mother Genevieve (Johnson) McLaughlin and Clare's sister June Klein both of Barnegat, NJ and by her seven adored grandchildren whom will miss her dearly.
Funeral Services will begin on Thursday, August 11, 2005 at 10:00am at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 followed by a 10:30am funeral liturgy at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges. Clare will be entombed at St. Magdalen's Mausoleum in Flemington. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 from 7-9pm , Wednesday, August 10, 2005 from 2-4 & 7-9pm and on Thursday from 9:30am until service time.
