Raritan Township, NJ– Frank Joseph DiGiandomenico, 66, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack. Born in New Brunswick, son of the late Antonio and Antoinette (Pilone) DiGiandomenico, he resided in East Amwell for 23 years before settling to Raritan Township six years ago.



Frank served his country in the United States Air Force Reserves and proceeded to Middlesex County Community College where he received his Associates of Arts degree. He continued his education, receiving his Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University. Frank began his career in law enforcement as a police officer in New Brunswick. He became a member of the New Jersey State Police in 1969 and retired after thirty years as a sergeant first class. As a State Trooper he was detailed to many stations in New Jersey including Hopewell and Flemington. He also served with the Executive Protection Unit while Brendan Byrne was governor. Before retiring, he was assigned to the Records and Identification unit. Frank was a member of the Police Honor Legion, the Sergeants Union, the Former Troopers Association and also held a private detective license. He was a member of the Darcy Lodge #37 F&AM in Frenchtown. Upon his retirement he founded and operated Matt Builders Inc. of Flemington. Frank was an avid runner and ran the New York Marathon twice. He also enjoyed biking and fishing. He was a communicant at St. Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church in Flemington and was proud to build their convent.



Frank leaves behind his beloved wife Judith A. (Nallin) DiGiandomenico with whom he joined hands in marriage on August 19, 1978. He will be deeply missed by his two loving sons: Matthew T. DiGiandomenico of Royersford, PA and Christopher E. DiGiandomenico of Raritan Township and his two brothers: Don DiGiandomenico of Bedminister and Vincent DiGiandomenico of Merritt Island, FL.



A funeral liturgy will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at St. Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Monday, April 5, 2010 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Frank's name to: Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, PO Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202 or H.U.M.C.
