Obituary

Ringoes, NJ—Francesco "Frank" Giuseppe DiGioia, 83, entered eternal life on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Hunterdon Medical Center. He was born in Castelpoto, Italy to the late Nicola and Colomba (nee Maio) DiGioia.

Frank had a green thumb and loved trees and nature at an early age, after learning from his grandfather in Italy. At the age of 18, he came to the United States to embrace the "American Dream". Within a few years, his dream came true, and started Frank DiGioia Nursery in Ringoes, NJ. His hard work was showcased daily at the Nursery; from the pristine park-like grounds, to the unique and wide variety of perfectly grown trees and shrubs. Stemming from his Grandfather, Frank acquired a passion to create uniquely grafted trees and plants that could only be found on his nursery. Even after retirement, his dedication and hard work for the large arboretum and landscaping display at home never stopped. He was a very proud husband, father and grandfather.

Frank leaves behind to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 37 years, Rosetta (nee Ambrosio) DiGioia; three loving children, Marie DeMaria, Frank DiGioia and fiancé Jennifer Nittoli, and Diana DiGioia; four dear siblings, Filomena, Lauro, Maria, and Giuseppe; and his adored grandson, Trevor.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Friday, February 12 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. and a funeral liturgy on Saturday, February 13, beginning at 10 a.m. at Saint Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church in Flemington.  Committal words and interment will follow at Saint Magdalen de Pazzi Cemetery.

Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, a maximum of 70 people will be allowed in the viewing area at any one time.  We ask that you kindly pay your respects to Frank's family and then allow others to do the same.  All attendees must wear a mask at all times and stay socially distant.
