Neshanic Station, NJ—Frank Schrey, 81 died on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at his home in Neshanic Station surrounded by loved ones. Born in Rudersdorf, Austria, he was raised in Brooklyn and Queens, NY prior to settling in Branchburg in 1967.
Frank attended Brooklyn Technical High School and graduated from Brooklyn Polytechnical Institute with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He had served his country with the United States Army. Frank worked at AT&T Bell Laboratories/Lucent Technologies in Murray Hill as a research chemist for over forty years, where he was granted a United States Patent for his work with silicon oxides in 1987. He was a passionate ballroom dancer and a member of the Roundtowners Dance Club.
Frank leaves behind his beloved wife of forty-eight years, Ruth Petraitis Schrey with whom he joined hands in marriage on December 28, 1963. He will be deeply missed by his three daughters, Erica Schrey of Branchburg, Caroline Schrey of Glen Gardner and Jennifer Schrey of Branchburg; and two adored grandchildren, Gage and Kara Voorhees.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Friday, September 30 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, October 1 from 9-9:30 a.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 1 beginning 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a 10:30 a.m. funeral liturgy at The Catholic Church of St. Ann in Raritan. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Norristown, PA. Memorial contributions may be made in Frank's memory to Hospice of NJ, 226 Haddonfield Road, 2nd Floor, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002.
