Hillsborough, NJ– G. M. (Geri) Cortese, 88, entered into eternal life on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Living in Hillsborough.  Born in Newark, NJ, daughter of the late Donato and Josephine (nee Dispenza) Cortese, she had resided in Union, NJ, prior to moving to Branchburg, NJ in 1981; she settled in Hillsborough several years ago.

Geri was an executive secretary for twenty-seven years at Lucent Technologies (formerly Western Electric) in Morristown, NJ before retirement in 1994.  She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.  Geri's faith was very important to her and she had been a faithful parishioner at St. Anthony of Padua Church in North Caldwell, NJ.  She loved time spent with her nieces and nephews and was always very generous to them.   She also enjoyed travel, with a particular fondness for Bermuda.

Besides her parents, Geri was predeceased by a brother, Mario N. Cortese; a sister, Constance (nee Cortese) Szefczek; and a beloved nephew, Daniel V. Cortese.

Geri is survived by a dear brother, Vincent F. Cortese of Vincetown, NJ.  She will be deeply missed by seven loving nieces and nephews, Mary Bailey, Joseph Sanders, Stephen Sanders, JoAnn Strokis, Christopher Cortese, Marc Cortese, and Michael Cortese; and many cherished great nieces and great nephews.
