Whitehouse Station, NJ – George Daniel Daly, 20, entered eternal life on Thursday, February 12, 2015. Born in West Orange to Charles David and Nancy (Carlson) Daly, he resided in Whitehouse Station all his life.

George graduated with high honors in 2013 from Hunterdon Central High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, and was a Team Leader in Teen PEP. He was a starting pitcher for the varsity baseball team, played varsity basketball, and was a member of several travel baseball teams. George was in his sophomore year at the University of Pittsburgh, majoring in molecular biology with minors in chemistry and physics. He was planning to pursue a career in medical research. George belonged to the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, where he served as a peer tutor in science.

George was very compassionate and freely gave his time and energy to volunteer activities, including the Samaritan Homeless Interim Program in Somerville, and the Safe Saturday programs in Newark and South Philadelphia. He was active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and was a member of Three Bridges Reformed Church. He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed the beach, music, and traveling. George was uniquely blessed with a large posse of close friends and a loving family, who in turn, were made better by his presence.

George is predeceased by his grandfathers, both of whom he was named after; George Alfred Carlson and Daniel Francis Daly, Jr. In addition to his devoted parents, George is survived by his dear sister Genevieve Daly, loving grandmothers Joan Evelyn Carlson and Sarah McKinley Daly, cherished godparents Wayne Howell and Jeralyn Carlson, and loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Friday, February 20, from 5 to 9 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 21 at 9:30 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Three Bridges.
