Obituary

RARITAN TWP. -- Gloria G. Kerekes passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the Hunterdon Care Center after a long illness. She was 85.

Mrs. Kerekes was born in Staten Island on December 6, 1922 to Angelo and Alice Giger Gullina. She spent most of her childhood in the Washington Heights area of Manhattan and moved to the Flemington area in 1947 after graduating from the Katherine Gibbs School in Manhattan with an associate's degree.

Gloria worked at Frelinghuysen Insurance in Flemington for many years and later joined the insurance firm of Moos, Kelly & McCaig in Finderne, where she remained until retirement in 1994.

In 1956, Gloria married John M. Kerekes of Croton, who died in 1989.

She was a parishioner of St. Magdalen Catholic Church in Flemington and was active in the local AARP chapter as well as the Clinton Women's Club for many years.

Gloria is survived by one son, John A. Kerekes and his wife Jill Quellette Kerekes; two granddaughters, Jocelyn and Jordan; and two grandsons, Jack and Joey, all of Flemington. She is also survived by her first cousin, Jule Gallina Campbell and her husband Ronald Campbell of Flemington and Manhattan and Bruce G. Campbell of Manhattan, a nephew and godson. Gloria is also survived by several nieces.

Following a private viewing at Countryside Funeral Home in Three Bridges, a funeral mass was held for Gloria on Saturday, Sept. 20 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Three Bridges.
