Flemington, NJ—Hans L. Beyer, 87, entered eternal life on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at home with loving family by his side. Born in Staten Island, NY, son of the late Ehrenfried and Ada (Moeller) Beyer, he resided in Flemington most of his life.


Hans was a 1945 graduate of New Dorp High School. He studied electronics at the United States Armed Forces Institute and graduated in 1951. Hans was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force having faithfully served his country as a corporal during the Korean War. He also spent over a year with the New Jersey Air National Guard. Hans was the service manager at Picker X-Ray from 1955-1990 and retired from Technical Equipment Marketing Sales, Inc. in Maryland as vice president. Recently he worked as a crossing guard for the Flemington/Raritan School System.


Hans was a past member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Flemington, Masonic Lodge #701 in New York, and the American Legion State Lodge. He was vice president of the International Management Council, past president of Concord Ridge Homeowners Association, and past president of South Hunterdon Little League. Hans was also a member of the Shanty Shifters Camping Club. He enjoyed attending local theatrical performances with his family and friends.


Besides his parents, Hans was predeceased by his beloved wife Helen (Hatala) Beyer on May 23, 2007 after fifty-seven years of marriage.
Hans is survived by two loving children, Thomas Beyer of Flemington and Susan and her husband Joel Reimer of Flemington; and a dear sister, Ina Schneider of Staten Island, NY. He will be deeply missed by three adored grandchildren, Jindy Robertson, Jennifer Melsky, and Carlye Beyer; and four precious great grandchildren, Kyle Robertson, Kolby Robertson, Dylan Melsky, and Kayla Melsky.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Thursday, February 19 from 6-9 p.m. and on Friday, February 20 from 10-11 a.m.


Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 20 beginning 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jim DeVries the chaplain of Hunterdon Hospice officiating. Committal words and interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Flemington. Memorial contributions may be made in Han's name to the American Lung Association, 55 W.
