Raritan Township, NJ– Harry J. Slagle, II, 52, entered into eternal life on Thursday, June 24, 2010 in the Florham Park Borough of Morris County. Born in Hanover, Pennsylvania, son of the late Raymond and Shirley (Renner) Slagle, Harry had resided in
McSherrystown, PA before settling to Raritan Township, NJ twenty-three years ago.
Harry was employed by First Energy in Morristown as a Supervisor of Environmental Site Remediation. He was a member of: Hunterdon Soccer Club; Greater Flemington Soccer Club; National Ski Patrol at Camelback; "Mid Jersey Youth Soccer Association" referee and a lifetime Alumni Association of his beloved alma mater, Penn State University. Harry received his Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State in environmental science and his Masters degree in engineering from NJ Institute of Technology. One of his greatest honors was when he became an Eagle Scout.
Harry leaves behind his beloved and devoted wife Karen (DeSerio) Slagle with whom he joined hands in marriage on March 12, 1983; his cherished children: son, Christopher J. Slagle and daughter, Lindsey N. Slagle both of Boulder, CO. He will be deeply missed by his dear step-mother Mary Lee of Gettysburg, PA and his three loving sisters: Susan Snyder of Hanover, PA; Cathy Kelley and Diane Seibert both of Pottstown, PA.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 beginning 9:15 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 followed by a 10:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. At the family's request disposition will be private.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at the funeral home on Monday, June 28, 2010 from 5:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M., and on Tuesday from 8:30 A.M. until service time.
