Obituary

Blairstown, NJ—Heliodoro Ramon Baute, 80, entered eternal life on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Hackettstown Medical Center.  Born in Cienfuegos, Cuba to the late Patricio and Angelina (Martel) Baute, he was raised in Cienfuegos, before settling in Elizabeth, NJ in 1974, where he lived for most of his life.

In Cuba he was a sailor and a member of the Navy.  When he immigrated to the U.S., he became a hardworking electrician and plumber who worked for Hayward Industries for most of his life.

Helio was a loving father and grandfather. He loved helping others and enjoyed laughing and joking with family and friends. He was very handy and loved working on his daughter's and friend's homes.  Helio loved to fish and would go fishing every chance he could, showing off his catches. He loved the sea and spending time at the beach.  He was an avid Yankees fan and lover of baseball which he played until late in life.

Heliodoro leaves behind his wife; Sira; devoted daughters; Patricia Figueredo and her husband Rolando, and Sandra Diaz and her husband Manuel; loving sisters, Clara Baute and Carmen Baute; and his five adored grandchildren, Nicholas Figueredo, Jacob Figueredo, Isabel Diaz, Andrew Diaz, and Julia Diaz.

At the family's request, disposition will be private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Heliodoro's name to the Alzheimer's foundation of America.
