Little Egg Harbor, NJ—Herbert T. "Skip" Wheeler, Jr., 74, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at home. Born in Taunton, MA, son of the late Herbert T. and Dorothy (nee Spearin) Wheeler, he had resided in Myrtle Beach, SC, Trenton, NJ, and Lawrenceville, NJ before settling to Little Egg Harbor in 1992.

Skip faithfully served his country with the United States Air Force as a Sergeant from 1966-1970 during the Vietnam War. Skip retired after thirty-seven years of dedicated employment with CSX Railroad of Philadelphia, PA, as a yardmaster. He enjoyed boating and fishing.

Skip is survived by his devoted wife, Elizabeth A. Wheeler; three loving children, Tracie and her husband Greg Owen of Three Bridges, NJ, Thomas Wheeler and his wife Andrea Ytkin of Hopewell, NJ, and David Wheeler of Ewing, NJ. He will be deeply missed by his dear brother, Donald Wheeler; four cherished grandchildren, Corey Thomas and his wife Ilyssa, Zoey Wheeler, Cydney Wheeler, and Morgan Owen; and two adored canine friends, "Belle" and "OB".

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation at Living Waters Lutheran Church, 11 Old York Road, Ringoes, NJ 08551 on Wednesday, June 19 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Lee officiating and conclude with military honors. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887.
