Jack R. Alonzo, 90, was born in 1925 in Brooklyn, NY and resided forty one years in Bridgewater, NJ before settling in Flemington, NJ; son of Mariano and Rose Puleo Alonzo.

Jack's creative and technical pursuits began with GE/Sylvania, NASA and Exxon Mobil. These experiences ultimately led to creating his own business, Microscopy Research Labs. This business provided electron microscopy technical support for scientific lawsuits, various high profile projects and the successful development of microscopy patents. His biggest achievement was the development of "hot stages" in support of Naval research and other commercial projects.

Jack's other great joys of life were gardening, photography, tinkering, Italian food and spending time with children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jack's children fondly recall his creativity, intelligence, and imaginative pursuits in an abundance of home repair activities and new ideas.

Jack was predeceased by the love of his life for sixty three years, Josephine (Schmidt) Alonzo. Jack and Josephine were walking advertisements for Holland America and other cruise lines! Survivors include his four children; two sons, Stephen Alonzo and his wife Kathy of Scotch Plains, NJ; John Alonzo and wife Dana of Flemington; two daughters, Regina Alonzo of Pennington, NJ; Joann Franck and husband Dave of San Antonio, TX. He also leaves behind eight beloved grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also will be dearly missed by his wonderful cousin bearing the same name, Jack P. Alonzo, of Golden Bridges, New York.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on April 18, 2016 from 6 - 9 p.m.

Funeral liturgical services will be held April 19, 2016 at 11 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges, NJ. A repast will be held following the mass. At the family's request, interment will be private.
