Sarasota, FL – Jacob Rutsen "Chub" Sutphin, 84, entered into eternal rest on June 29, 2007. He lived in Neshanic until retiring to Sarasota in 1975. Jacob served in the United States Marine Corp. in the Fourth Marine Division during WWII and completed all landings in the Pacific.

He is survived by his mother Dr. Florence E. of Sarasota, his daughters; Barbara A. Wass of Sarasota, Florence D. Munro, Diane Sutphin-Scopetto and Suzanne Sutphin all of Flemington. He will be sadly missed by his three grandchildren Michele L. Rigg, Samantha L. Young and Cole R. Scopetto along with his three great-grandchildren Randy and Carlyn Rigg and Nash Young.

A memorial gathering celebrating Jacob's life will take place at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Sunday, July 29, 2007 from 2-4pm. Memorial contributions in Jacob's name may be sent to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
