Flemington, NJ- James W. Ake, 63, entered into eternal life on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at Hunterdon Medical Center.  Born in Roaring Spring, PA to the late James A. and Carrie (Raugh) Ake, he moved to Morristown, NJ at a young age and then settled to Readington in 1993.

Jim worked at various companies in technology throughout the years, but anyone who knew him knew his real passions were his family, friends, and sports.

"Jimbo" was just one of his many nicknames he was lovingly called, but Jim's favorite nickname was always "Coach". Jim coached his two sons' baseball, basketball and soccer teams in Readington Township throughout the years including state and regional titles and a trip to the World Series. His love of sports lead him to also coach the Diamond Jacks, serve as an umpire, and to teach batting lessons. Outside of baseball he could be found at the beach, boating, fishing or golfing.

Jim is survived by his devoted wife Linda (Gertz) Ake of 33 years; sons Joshua Ake of Bradenton, FL and Jeremy Ake and his fiancée Jennifer Dixon of Mount Laurel, NJ; brothers David Ake and wife Marcia of Mine Hill, NJ, Steven Ake and wife Donna of Belleville, PA and John Ake and wife Susan of State College, PA and many dear nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 69 Capner St., Flemington, NJ.
