Obituary

Raritan Township, NJ– James Petraglia, 67, entered into eternal life on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at home with loving family by his side.  Born in Plainfield, NJ, son of the late Arthur and Yolanda (nee Masselli) Petraglia. He settled in Raritan Township after residing in Readington Township NJ for thirty-eight years.

James retired after many years of dedicated employment with Local 475 Steamfitter/Pipefitters Union of Warren, NJ as a union pipefitter. Jim enjoyed fishing and hunting and taught his two sons the love of nature since they were young. His most beloved passion was to spend the holidays and the weekends at his Pocono home on Lake Wallenpaupack that was filled with fun and laughter. Jim also loved working outside in his yard and was proud of working on little projects around the house. His five grandchildren adored their "pop" and he loved being around them any chance he had. Jim's smile permeated everywhere he went.  He was always there for his family and friends.

James is survived by his devoted wife, Toni Ann (nee Fania) Petraglia with whom he joined hands in marriage on August 2, 1975.  He will be deeply missed by three loving children, Tara and her husband Scott Hamilton of Doylestown Pa ,Neil Petraglia and his wife Stephanie of Flemington, and Anthony Petraglia of Lambertville, NJ; dear brothers, Arthur Petraglia and his wife Sheila and Phillip Petraglia; five cherished grandchildren, Lena Rose, Maisy, James, Gavin, and Tommy; mother-in-law, Minnie Fania; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Tuesday, September 8 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and on Wednesday, September 9 from 9:45-10:15 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges, NJ.

At the family's request, the disposition will be private.  Memorial contributions may be made in James' name to Hunterdon Hospice, 215 Route 31 South, Flemington NJ 08822.
