Three Bridges

Obituary

Three Bridges, NJ-Jane (nee Carr) Schwab, 85, entered into eternal life on January 28, 2025 at Complete Care at Green Knoll Memory Facility in Bridgewater, NJ. Born in Orange, NJ, daughter of the late James and Jane Carr, she lived in North Plainfield, NJ, and Plainfield, NJ, before settling in Three Bridges in 1999. Jane's parents left Ireland coming to America through Ellis Island making Jane a first generation 100% Irish American.

Jane attended grade school at Our Lady of the Valley in Orange and upon graduation from high school had received a full scholarship to attend college. Unfortunately, she had to decline that scholarship in order to take care of and raise her siblings. After many years of dedicated employment as an executive secretary in the banking industry, she retired.

Jane loved tea rooms, operas, ballets, Irish music, ballroom dancing, and teaching the Irish Jig to her family. She also enjoyed researching, documenting and sharing her family heritage, even reaching out to historians in Ireland for detailed information. And her favorite pleasure was spending as much time as possible with her beloved children, grandchildren and great grandkids.

Jane was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas Schwab; and five brothers, James Carr, Michael Carr, Peter Carr, Patrick Carr, and John Carr.

Jane will be deeply missed and is survived by three loving children, Paul Wasserman and his wife, Leslie of Spotswood, NJ, Denyse ORorke and her fiancé, Steve Pecoraro of Sewaren, NJ, and Mark Wasserman and his wife, Abigail of Guilford, CT; ten cherished grandchildren, Christine, Sean, Steven, Cassie, Michael, Shayne, Katie, Samantha, Jonathan, and Ruby; and six adored great grandchildren, Aiden, Makenna, Joseph, Bella, Grayson, and Hudson.
