Clinton Township, NJ- Jo Anne Zayanskosky- Whitaker, 53, entered into eternal rest with her family by her side on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township. Born in Somerville to her late parents, Joseph and Rose (Mamzchak) Zayanskosky, she resided in Manville before settling to the Lebanon section of Clinton Township in 1982.
Jo Anne received her Bachelor's Degree from Montclair State College and Master's Degree from Trenton State College.
Jo Anne had been a supervisor and teacher of Physical Education and Health having taught at Manville High School, Ramsey High School, Manalapan High School, and Marlboro High School. Most recently, Jo Anne grew very fond of those students in her special education classes with whom she had a special bond.
Jo Anne was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Whitehouse. She was a member of the National APHERD and the New Jersey APHERD. She also belonged to the Shore Chapter of Basketball Officials.
Jo Anne leaves behind her beloved husband Asa J. Whitaker with whom she joined hands in marriage on August 21, 1982; by her adored son Asa Z. Whitaker whom resides at home; and by her dear brother John Zayanskosky of Tewksbury. She will be deeply missed by her two loving nephews Andrew and Garrett.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 beginning 8:30am at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 followed by a 9:30am funeral liturgy at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Whitehouse Station. Jo Anne will be laid to rest at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Clinton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 13, 2008 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm, and on Wednesday, January 14, 2008 from 8:00am until service time.
