Readington Township, NJ – Joan M. (Girgenti) Hager, 71, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2007 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township. Born in Newark to her late parents Joseph and Minnie (Laible) Girgenti, she had lived in Union before settling to Readington Township in 1975.

Joan was a homemaker, an avid bingo player and enjoyed painting and crafting. She was also a part time secretary for her husband's electric company, Hager Electric and her son's school bus company, James Hager Jr. Inc. Bus Company.

Besides her parents, Joan is predeceased by her dear sisters Dorothy Girgenti and Marie Dahl.

Joan is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 51 years James A. Hager Sr., with whom she joined hands in marriage on September 29, 1956 at St. Leo's Church in Irvington; her loving son and daughter-in-law James and Brenda Hager Jr. of Ringoes; her dear siblings, sister Doris Costello of Raritan Township and brother Joseph Girgenti of Scranton, PA.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2007 beginning 9:30am at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 followed by the entombment at St. Magdalen's Mausoleum in Flemington. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 from 6-9pm and on Thursday from 9:00am until service time.
