Obituary

Family and friends mourn the loss of Joanne C. Brams, 79, who entered eternal life on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Hunterdon Medical Center.  Born in Plainfield, NJ, in 1942 to the late Dr. Angelo and Marie (nee Rossi) Fioravanti, she was raised in North Plainfield and moved to Del Ray Beach, FL, from 1994 to 2010 before settling in Flemington, NJ, where she lived the rest of her life.

Joanne attended Mount Saint Mary Academy in Watchung, NJ. After graduating high school, Joanne attended Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. Joanne was active in politics and women's rights. She was very passionate about politics and loved to talk politics with anyone who would listen. Joanne was in the furniture business for many years before entering the travel industry, sharing the responsibilities of owning her travel agency, World Wide Cruises. She traveled the world, sharing those experiences with her family, friends, and the many groups they commissioned.

What Joanne loved the most was her family and friends, and she would make a friend anywhere she went. When she walked into a room, her beautiful smile, spirit, and laughter would brighten the room. Joanne's most immense joy was her family. There was no time when she wouldn't tell them she loved them, supported them, and made them know how important they were to her. Her children and grandchildren were her entire life. She was so proud of them and let everyone know it. Joanne loved people and made so many connections throughout her journey through life. She will be dearly missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing her.

Besides her parents, Joanne was predeceased by her brother John Fioravanti. Her three devoted children survive Joanne: Bryan C. Galloway and his wife Donna of Sayreville, Lisa DeTommaso and her husband Joe of Flemington, and Jennifer Phillips and her husband Ken, also of Flemington.  Her six grandchildren will deeply miss her: Mackenzie and Taylor Galloway, Joseph and Julia DeTommaso, Jacob and Madison Phillips, as well as her cherished great-granddaughter, Autumn Prassl.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, August 22, 2022, from 4-8 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887.

The family will have a private celebration of Joanne's life in the coming days. You may make a memorial contribution to the American Cancer Society in Joanne's name. https://www.cancer.org/
