Obituary

Raritan Township, NJ – Johanna (Mykolajczuk) Mykulak, 81, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at her residence with her family by her side. Born in the Ukraine to her late parents Mihajlo and Anna (Kret) Mykolajczuk, she fled to Europe after World War II to reside in Venezuela before coming to the United States of America. She had lived in New York City and Accord, NY most of her life before finally settling to Flemington, NJ in 1998.


Johanna was a homemaker and a tremendous caregiver for her family. She enjoyed gardening, bingo, pets and most of all the time spent with family instilling Ukrainian traditions. She was a member of the Ukrainian CYM Association of Ellenville, NY. Johanna was a communicant of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church in Kerhonkson, NY and locally had attended services at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges.


Besides her parents, Johanna was predeceased by her beloved husband Theodore Mykulak who died in 1983 and her granddaughter Michelle Mykulak who died in 2006.


Johanna is survived by her loving & devoted sons and daughters-in-law; Bohdan and Juanita Mykulak, Nick and Maria Mykulak all of Raritan Township. She will be deeply missed by her cherished grandchildren; Robert Mykulak and his wife Dawn, Nicholas Mykulak and Marisa Mykulak.


Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008 beginning with a brief visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 from 6:30am-7:00am. The funeral procession will immediately travel to Kerhonkson, NY for a 10:00am funeral liturgy at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church in Kerhonkson, NY. Johanna will be laid to rest at Pine Bush Cemetery in Kerhonkson, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at Countryside Funeral Home today, Friday, April 18, 2008 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Memorial contributions may be made in Johanna's name to: St. Hubert's Animal Shelter, 3201 Route 22 East, North Branch, NJ 08876 or to Hunterdon Hospice, 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822 would be deeply appreciated.
