John Joseph Homicki, 74, of Clayton, NC passed away on March 17, 2019 in the town of Smithfield, NC surrounded by family.  John was born in Elizabeth, NJ to Laura and John Homicki on December 11, 1944.

John went to school in Elizabeth, NJ.  He married Fran Matino on February 24, 1966 in Elkton, MD.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the United States Army.  He was avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling.  John loved spending time with his family at his home away from home in Carolina Beach.  He and Fran also enjoyed traveling in their free time.

John is preceded in death by his parents.

John is survived by his wife, Fran Homicki; son, Mark Homicki; daughter-in-law, Christine; grand-daughter, Kyleigh; and many family and friends.  The family of John Homicki wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Hospice of Smithfield for their excellent care and support.

A memorial visitation will take place at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Sunday, April 14 from 2-4 p.m.  A visitation took place at McLaurin Funeral Home, 12830 US HWY 70 Business West, Clayton, NC on Wednesday, March 20 from 7-9 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of John Homicki to Clayton Area Ministries, 704 E. Main St. Clayton, NC 27520.
